Monday Jan. 14th – 8.06 miles – 01:28:00 – 564 ft. elevation
Nice easy run up the North Santa Fe Trail. It was around 20 degrees but I managed to stay relatively warm. Wanted to stay out longer but had to get back for a meeting.
Tuesday Jan. 15th – Nothing
Wednesday Jan. 16th – 10.14 miles – 03:44:00 – 3,632 ft. elevation
Great hike up Barr Trail. It’s amazing how much colder it was higher on the trail than it was during the start. Much more snow than last week due to a storm we had but it was all packed and easy on the trail. Looking to head up farther next week.
Thursday Jan. 17th – Nothing
Friday Jan. 18th – 11 miles – 02:03:00 – 967 ft. elevation
Nice flat and easy run on the North Santa Fe Trail. Wore my heart rate monitor and did some zone training (which I hardly ever do but want to start doing more frequently).
Saturday Jan. 19th – Nothing
Sunday Jan. 20th – 3.71 miles – 00:38:06 – 527 ft. elevation
Good paced running and scrambling in the Pulpit Rock area near my house.
Weekly Totals – 32.91 miles – 07:52:06 – 5,690 ft. elevation
Decent week. I’m trying to build the mileage up slowly. I haven’t done that in the past and it never works out very well. I definitely need to start getting some more elevation but that will come. I’m still debating on whether or not I want to enter Leadville this year. I’d probably rather not run it this year and spend some time exploring other areas and getting some more 14ers under my belt. But, I want a qualifier for the 2014 Hardrock…..
Also, I read Scott Jurek’s ‘Eat and Run: My Unlikely Journey to Ultramarathon Greatness‘ this week. AWESOME Book! Definitely a great read for any runner.
