I had originally planned on summitting Pikes Peak today but don’t feel like I’m quite ready for the full round-trip yet. Instead, I decided to get out and try to put in a long run. I hadn’t done anything over 10 miles since Leadville about 5 months ago — pretty pathetic. I wasn’t worried about time at all. I took plenty of time eating and drinking and stopped to rest whenever I did so. Overall it was a good outing. My legs held up incredibly well. It was relatively flat but that’s alright for now. It felt great to get out and cover some actual distance.

Surprisingly not sore after yesterday’s 20 miler but decided to take the day off anyway to let the body recover.

Nice run in Ute Valley park.

Mixed feelings about this week. Not nearly the mileage or elevation I was expecting due to getting a stomach bug on Saturday and Sunday but I’m happy that I finally got in a relatively long run. Hopefully a longer week next week.
